City Municipal Council of Raichur

The City Municipal Council is the local governing body of Raichur city and as such the entire responsibility of providing the utility and services to the people lies on its shoulders. Some of the major sector that the municipal council takes care of are roads, solid waste management, parks and gardens, lake development, street lighting, traffic management, water supply and many others.

Police Department

The City Municipal Council is helped by the police department in maintaining the law and order of the city. The present Deputy Commissioner of Raichur is Shri. S.N. Nagaraju. In case of Raichur, the police department is playing an active role in the society and even taking extra steps to create an awareness among the people. The police department regularly sends beat constables to visit five villages at least thrice a week and report about the crimes to their head so preventive steps can be taken.

Birth and Death Registration and Certification System

Running to the government office hundreds of times, standing in long queues and waiting endlessly is dreaded by almost everyone who has ever been to get a copy of Birth or Death certificate. To make things easier for its citizens, the City Municipal Council of Raichur introduced the system of  computerising the Birth and Death records, online registration of birth and death and issuing of computerised certificated in the ULBs (Urban Local Bodies). This sophisticated system allows the people of Raichur to access these services right from their home or any other local body.

Complaint Registration

Before the set up of the Public Grievance Redressal System in Raichur, the local bodies here used to receive the public complaints in hard copy form or through phone calls. This made it difficult for the public to register and track the complaints thus the govt having issues with timely redressal of the complaints. For this reason, the town now has a Public Grievance Redressal System that allows you to register your complaint through various modes such as the internet, phone, e-mail and on paper. The computerization of the whole grievance and redressal system has resulted in quicker responses from the government.
